Westport AAU is a youth basketball organization dedicated to changing the culture of youth basketball and glorifying our God.

Kids deserve an environment in which they can grow and develop in a positive Christ honoring way. The current competitive youth basketball climate has grown in a direction that no longer focuses on the game of basketball and developing fundamentals and we seek to develop each individual player for their success along with the success of the team.

We don’t want to simply develop basketball players. We want to develop these young boys to one day be men with high standards for themselves and others. High character, high integrity - both on and off the court.

Competitive.

Our boys will be playing other competitive teams from all across the state. Many of the teams we will be playing against are top teams in the state while some will be ranked nationally. Our goal is to not only be able to play alongside these teams but put a competitive team on the floor to win those games.

Both Westport Teams offer comprehensive player development, positive coaches, and organized parent communication.

Our comprehensive player development includes team practices, games, camps, skill workouts, and teaching biblical life lessons throughout.

While it will ultimately be up to each team's individual coaching staff, most elementary teams will play local Charlotte competition. This does not mean that there will never be an out of city or out of state tournament, but those will be limited and discussed with parents beforehand.

This will be up to the individual teams coaching staff, though Westport Club’s aim is to play between July - November anywhere between 6-10 tournaments. This will equal approximately 18-30 games a season.

Each team will have their own individual practices and will have use of the Westport FLC gym. Skill workouts will be shared time between all teams and are optional but highly encouraged.

There will be a minimum of 8 and maximum of 14 players per team and will be at the coaches discretion.
